A new band for me, kind of a trippy intro. The song has a good grove, and goes from screamy lyrics to harmonic and melodic chorus and back. Then mixes that in with a minor bit of keyboards, but largely stays focused on the core attributes of guitar, bass, and drums. The video is pretty good, I did – as I stated in the reaction – felt that the topic was handled the topic in a very PG (i.e. safe for kids) way for such a heavy topic. A kind of artistic way to broach the topic of verbal abuse and a father figure being generally absent as a good soul. Overall enjoyed the song and definitely recommend, and will recommend this band and song to others, as it definitely will find a spot in many people’s soul.
On a tangentially related topic though, I dread meeting any abusive shits like this. It’s just not something, this kind of abusive shitty behavior represented in the father figure lookin guy, that I can abide.
I cover my tracks and peel my layers
I gather my strength from thoughts and prayers
I empty my house too flee from chaos
I dream of a king that won’t betray us
Don’t delay us all
You better watch out the wolf is coming
Save your soul
You better watch out the wolf is coming
Dig a hole
My cigarette ash converts to sparkles
My eyes are installed in walls of marbles
They told me to break my floating castles
I dream of the day your bones are fossils
Are you puzzled now?
You better watch out the wolf is coming
Save your soul
You better watch out the wolf is coming
Dig a hole
You better watch out the wolf is coming
Save your soul
Give in to the crowd and turn to nothing
Bells will toll tonight
I won’t drown I can’t hold down my head
So you better watch out
I will swim with phantom limbs instead
I was never in doubt
(Formed so inconsistently, extending this misery lane)
(Breathing out the ever-present tragedy born on the plane)
You better watch out the wolf is coming
Save your soul
You better watch out the wolf is coming
Dig a hole
You better watch out the wolf is coming
Save your soul
Give in to the crowd and turn to nothing
Bells will toll tonight
