Flummoxed Reaction to I Am Your God’s, Not Me, Them, Their Song “Another Day to Die”

A harsh verdict awaits.

I Am Your God’s latest track, “Another Day to Die,” seems to be an ode to the overused metal tropes that many of us hoped had been laid to rest. Right from the get-go, the song plunges into a whirlpool of angst and rebellion, a concoction we’ve tasted far too many times.

The opening riff is as predictable as a sunrise, lacking the innovative edge that could have set it apart in a sea of metal mediocrity. It’s like they stumbled upon a ‘Metal Riffs for Dummies’ book and decided that was all the inspiration they needed. And let’s talk about the lyrics – a patchwork of every metal cliché you can think of, stitched together with the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Lines like “Walking through the shadows, the reaper’s my only friend” feel like a half-hearted nod to the genre’s greats, minus the depth and ingenuity.

The vocal performance, while technically proficient, comes off as a caricature of metal angst. It’s as if the lead singer is trying to channel every metal frontman ever, ending up as a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. The drumming and bass, while tight, don’t venture beyond the safe confines of metal conventions. They’re like the dependable sidekicks in a superhero movie – there, but hardly memorable.

But hey, it’s not all doom and gloom. The guitar solo midway is a brief glimmer of hope, showcasing some genuine skill. It’s like finding a diamond in a rough – a rough that’s unfortunately all too familiar and worn out.

In the grand scheme of metal, “Another Day to Die” is unlikely to be the track that propels I Am Your God to the pantheon of metal legends. It’s more like a comfort blanket for those who like their metal unchallenging and wrapped in familiarity. For the rest of us, it’s just another day, another predictable metal track.

Lyrics:

[Intro]
When the war is gone

[Verse 1]
Crawling out from fields of war
My remedy, my home
Prayers of injured men are drowning
Insanity of leaders will never stop this brutal bleeding
Angels' eyes are blistered when humankind is vanishing in the air

[Verse 2]
Little man let fantasies grow in more and more, as independent havens are invaded
People from so dark and cold will keep themselves awake and front
Angels' eyеs are blistered whеn humankind is vanishing in air

[Chorus]
When the war is gone
We stand for glory of the heroes who furiously fought their last time
When the war is gone
Towards the victory we march and I'll choose another day to die
Another day to die

[Post-Chorus 1]
I had to bleed for the last time
I had to bleed for the last time

[Verse 3]
Crawling out from fields of war
My remedy, my home
One-way train towards the hell is waiting
For cowards and betrayers who left their friends alone in pain
My bullets have their names on 'em, no mercy
I'll put the bullets in their heads

[Bridge]
Die!
Forget this tragedy, or live in psychosis
This human madness is the way to extinction
Deeper and deeper into extinction

[Instrumental Break]

[Chorus]
When the war is gone
We stand for glory of the heroes who furiously fought their last time
Now the war is gone
Towards the victory we march and I'll choose another day to die

[Post-Chorus 2]
And I have realized
The heaven is closed from our kind
And the traitors will never come back alive

[Outro]
Deeper and deeper into extinction
Forget this tragedy, or live in psychosis
Forget this tragedy, or live in psychosis
