Poison Black Reaction, but Nixed Cuz Face Plant, Which One’s “Suffocated”

Oh, Poison Black’s latest offering, “Fix Myself”, feels less like a song and more like a DIY project gone awry—where all the instructions were read backward and upside down. The track seems hellbent on burglarizing the cool of hip hop, the peppy essence of pop punk, and the visceral angst of Rage Against the Machine. Yet, despite these lofty thefts, all it manages to deliver is a staggering cargo of absurdity. Imagine a blender that instead of mixing, insists on separating its contents back to their original states—yes, it’s that fruitless and baffling.

“Fix Myself” attempts to stitch together a Frankenstein’s monster of genres, but alas, the creature refuses to come to life. Each musical segment, possibly kidnapped from better songs, struggles under the weight of its own identity crisis, never quite meshing into anything coherent. The end result feels like a musical ‘uncanny valley’—eerily familiar yet deeply off-putting. It’s as if the band set out with a map to the treasure chest of ‘ultimate cool’ but ended up digging in all the wrong places, hitting pipelines of cringe instead.

There’s a saying that ‘everything but the kitchen sink’ can work if done right; unfortunately, Poison Black not only threw in the sink but also the entire plumbing system, and none of it connected properly. So while the intent might have been to build a masterpiece, what we got was more akin to a hastily patched up draft that desperately needs revisiting. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s so avant-garde, it’s beyond mere mortal comprehension—but let’s not hedge our bets on that.

But Oh Wait, There’s MORE! Ok, I pulled the plug at that point… and switched to another song. So you get a 2 reactions for the price of one on this episode!

Which One – Suffocated

“Suffocated” by Which One encapsulates the all-too-familiar feeling of being trapped, not just in circumstance, but in one’s own spiraling thoughts. This track strikes a chord with its stripped-back sincerity, avoiding the common pitfalls of overproduction that can dilute the raw potency of emotional music. The vocals are a standout, delivering each line with a palpable urgency that doesn’t just aim for the ears but grips the heart with a firm, almost uncomfortable pressure.

The instrumentation is cleverly arranged—sparse yet effective, creating a haunting ambiance that lingers long after the song ends. Which One uses the simplicity of the music to their advantage, allowing the lyrics room to breathe and resonate. It’s a testament to the power of minimalism in music, where less truly becomes more.

“Suffocated” doesn’t need bells and whistles to convey its message; it’s all there in the unvarnished truth of the melody and words. This song is a sharp reminder of how overpowering and isolating the struggle with inner demons can be. Which One has crafted a piece that’s both a lament and a reflection, a musical introspection that feels deeply personal yet universally understandable.

Lyrics

No one seems to understand
No one seems to feel her pain
Because everytime
The words get stuck in her mind

Words can sting, tear her apart
They burn her shining heart
Because everytime
People pretend to be blind

Because everytime
The words get stuck in her mind

Hey You ! Come to me
I will break you into a thousand pieces
Even if you don't agree
Your confidence and your ego will decrease
Get down on one knee
Sh*t up and just do what I say
Hey You ! Come to me
Who told you that you could be free?

It's time to rise above, take back your right

Don’t tell me, I’m sorry, for being me
Don’t care what you say, I’m not disturbed, living my life
And I will dry the tears inside of me
And I will fight the demons in front of me

God D*mn,
I got a story to tell
Don’t wanna stay, no matter what they might say
I'm gonna keep pushing forward, I won't back down,
They can't dictate my happiness, so I’m gonna wear this f*cking crown !

Hey You ! Come to me
I want to live, I want to breathe, I want everything
Even if you don't agree
I won't let their judgments get in my way

It's time to rise above, take back your right

Don’t tell me, I’m sorry, for being me
Don’t care what you say, I’m not disturbed, living my life
And I will dry the tears inside of me
And I will fight the demons in front of me

They try to bring me down, but I won't let 'em win,
I'ma stay true to myself, won't let 'em under my skin,
Breaking the chains, setting myself free,
I'm gonna be the best version of "I" that I can be !

It's time to rise above, take back your right

Don’t tell me, I’m sorry, for being me
Don’t care what you say, I’m not disturbed, living my life
And I will dry the tears inside of me
And I will fight the demons in front of me
