The Attic Records is a shop located in Millvale, just immediately to the northeast of Pittsburgh. It’s a sizable record shop with most shelves that go from floor almost to the ceiling. I suspect, there are somewhere around 18 of these shelves, then a few that are at waist height. In either case, what that amounts to is thousands upon thousands of records!
The vibe, as I walked into the record store (watch the video for that very moment) was excellent. I was greeted by the staff, and given assistance in looking for an album I *thought* I’d seen in the front window. In either case they tried to find that, then upon realizing I had conflated a window display for Omnium Gatherum with the band vs an album, I inquired about a metal section. Immediately I was shown to the vast metal section. At that point I delved into the search to see what I could find! (The video is below, but there’s more on The Attic below the video, so keep scrolling)
I flipped through several hundred records and found two specific records. One I had actually tried to buy recently (Obscura’s “A Valediction”) but the online shops where sold out. The other I didn’t realize existed as a short form 45 LP (Bodum After Midnight). I’ll have reviews of these albums, plus some reaction vids posted soon and will update this post with links to those, in the meantime, keep thrashing! ๐ค๐ป
