Inside the Cage of Fire with Parallyx, a reaction to “Cage of Fire”

A Short History of Parallyx

Parallyx, an evocative name that conjures images of parallel dimensions and hypnotic soundscapes, is a relatively new band that is working on making a name for itself in the metalcore/djent genre our of Paris, France. Formed in the early 2020s, the band is fronted by the charismatic Lina Victoria, a Moroccan singer now based in Paris. Lina’s powerful and versatile vocal range, combined with her dynamic stage presence, has become a defining element of Parallyx’s sound.

Lead Vocals: Lina Victoria
Lina Victoria, originally from Morocco, brings a unique blend of cultural influences and vocal prowess to the band. Her journey into music began in her home country, where her captivating voice quickly garnered attention. Relocating to Paris, Lina’s ability to convey raw emotion and energy has solidified her role as the heart and soul of Parallyx.

Beyond Lina, I couldn’t really determine who the rest of the band, or who the band has been, and will get it sorted out eventually. But as of today, still kind of scratching my head as I found odd results via search engines and AI just makes up random shit.

Review of “Cage of Fire”

Parallyx’s “Cage of Fire” is a masterful in melding intensity with atmospheric depth, and it’s a track that truly showcases the band’s multifaceted talent. From the opening synth notes, courtesy of the band’s intricate arrangements, you’re immediately drawn into a soundscape that feels both vast and intimate. The synths are lush, creating an almost cinematic backdrop that sets the tone for the entire song.

As the track builds, the guitarists work cuts through with razor-sharp precision. Their riffs are both aggressive and melodic, weaving through the synth layers with a fluidity that demonstrates their technical skill and creative vision. The interplay between Adrien and Mathis’s guitars is where “Cage of Fire” finds much of its dynamic power, a dance between raw energy and ethereal beauty.

Lina Victoria’s vocals are the soul of the song. Her voice ranges from a haunting whisper to a powerful roar, perfectly capturing the emotional intensity of the lyrics. The vocal delivery is impassioned, with Lina pouring every ounce of feeling into the performance. The chorus, in particular, is a standout moment, with Lina’s voice soaring over the instrumentation, creating a spine-tingling effect.

The bass and drums form a rhythm section that is both tight and expansive. Bass lines provide a deep, throbbing undercurrent that grounds the song, while drumming is nothing short of explosively tight. The percussion is intricate yet forceful, driving the song forward with relentless energy.

Eventually I’ll figure out who each member is in this band, but until then, check out the reaction and enjoy the song! Check em’ out!

Lyrics

Rising around you like a cage of fire

Put your eyes on me
Fight for my life it’s
The way you’ll survive

Leave your friends for me
Fly away alone
I’ll meet you outside

The walls around are tightening
Rising around you like a cage of fire
The walls around are tightening
Rising around you like a cage of fire

Come,
We’re finally home and safe
Your face is all I see
Forever home
Follow the voice inside
Your memory of me
Will never fade away

I’m deadly for you
Babe, I’ve fallen hard
No sanity left inside

What is there to save?
It’s been hell since the
Day we went way too far

The walls around are tightening
Rising around you like a cage of fire
The walls around are tightening
Rising around you like a cage of fire

Come,
We’re finally home and safe
Your face is all I see
Forever home
Follow the voice inside
Your memory of me
Will never fade away

Dangerous thoughts are crippling
Telling me lies that I believe
I’ve lost the plot, lost my mind
Soon you’ll be dead, and I’ll be off

Come,
We’re finally home and safe
Your face is all I see
Forever home
Follow the voice inside
Your memory of me
Will never fade away
